I’m thinking about double majoring in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Computer Science is in HSSEAS, and Applied Mathematics is in the College of Letters and Science. I am currently an incoming freshman majoring in Applied Mathematics, so I was able to apply and be accepted into the honors program already. I’m just wondering if I added on Computer Science as a second major if I would still be eligible for the honors program since it is only for the College of Letters and Science.
If I double majored in CS and Applied Mathematics at UCLA, would I still qualify for honors program?
You cannot add CS from HSSEAS as a second major. You would need to switch to CS then after being in cs declare a second major which would be math. Keep in mind you would graduate in more than 4 years doing this. You would be not be able to do honors because you would add math after your second year which is beyond the app process for honors. You are better off doing the Lang and cs major doubling with math. Cs in HSSEAS is hard enough on its own
