If I get a SAT score above 1550 (JHU’s 75th SAT percentile), does that mean I have a super high chance of getting in JHU (applied math&stat or econ major)?
You definitely have great score and a good chance, but I don’t think anyone can say they have a “super high chance”. My daughter had a 1570 and excellent grades, ECs, essays and didn’t get in. Make sure you have some good matches and safeties, just in case.
No one has a “super high chance” at JHU.
I don’t know how competitive Applied math&stat department and Economics department are. I guess they are easier to get in compared to BME or Neuro Science (anything Bio related). Not sure if I’m right tho.
You’ll have a better chance but there are no guarantees in college admissions.
Your strong SAT score is but one data point in a holistic admissions review.
OP is a jinior snd I think those are the scores he hopes for. (“If I get…”)
OP, you have very limited ECs (chess and piano)and you admitted on another thread that your academics are “not rigorous.”
No. Almost no one has a high change of being accepted. JHU had an acceptance rate of 8.4% last year and 9.9% the year before. SAT score is one part of the application. But a lot of capable students get turned away when acceptance rate are this low.
No. Scores are just part of the equation. My non-hooked kid was rejected RD with a 36 ACT, high GPA, great rigor, significant ECs, and no known red flags anywhere on the application. That was the only rejection and there were multiple acceptances to other competitive schools.
I assume chances would have been significantly better with ED, but JHU wasn’t even close to top choice so no ED.
nope. You need gradaes, ECs, test scores, and a good application.
