If I volunteer here, will med schools care?

Hello,

There is a center that provides developmental and rehabilitation services to adults with mental and physical disabilities. It is not really a hospital, but they do provide nursing with basic medical procedures as well. There is also physical therapy and behavior management for these patients. I will be helping with all of these aspects of the center. Would this count toward volunteering hours for a pre-med, and please don't lecture me about how you shouldn't care about whether it counts or not, I want to help people, but I also want to be able to get into medical school so certain precautions must be taken.

Thank you!

while im by no means an expert on what medical schools consider or don’t consider for volunteering, this seems 100% to me a “clinical” volunteering experience. perhaps not a hospital, but i don’t know that it must necessarily be a hospital as much as just patient contact

If you want to do it you should do it, if you have some passion behind it they will consider it clinical experience.
