I plan on going to med school after I get my bachelor's. I'm currently at a community college, hoping to transfer this coming Fall.

Two questions:

Will attending a liberal arts school affect the way I am judged by med school admissions committees?

Will attending a liberal arts school afford me more opportunities/experience (e.g. research opportunities, etc) to get practical experience in the medicine field because of the reduced competition for available spots/opportunities? I saw this somewhere but wasn't sure if it was true.

No.

IMO, no. While LACs don’t have grad students that might take some of the research jobs, they also tend to have less research going on than many larger, research driven universities. I think there are opportunities at most schools.

I’m talking here about research in general, you don’t have to do medical research to count as having research experience for applying to med school.

I suggest looking at the Premed Topics subforum, there is an excellent sticky thread that discusses what to look for in an UG college.

I have seen your other post, I assume you know that when you apply to med school, they average every college course you ever took at any time, anywhere. Even if you retook a class and got a better grade, they use both grades in calculating your gpa.
