would the University of Chicago receive my scores? I'm applying Early Action.

And how about the November tests? I know the deadline's November 1, I'm just wondering. :)

And how about the November tests? I know the deadline's November 1, I'm just wondering. :)

great question, I'm early action as well, and I was wondering about that too!

They do. I took my SAT II in October and they accepted it. Also, I retook my SAT I in November and they also acknowledged my new scores-- this was for early action.

Thank you!! Okay then, I shall take the SAT in October and possibly an SAT II in November...just 3 more months and the stupid tests will be out of my life! :D

Be SURE to let your admission officer know that you are taking tests in Oct and Nov., and be SURE to have the College board rush the scores, even if it costs you extra to do so.

They usually say whether or not to rush scores. I know Princeton, for instance, specifically said NOT to rush the scores.

Well , the OP is talking about Chicago, and as the Collegeboard has had some pretty big time screwups recently, if I were the OP, I would not want to assume that any new scores, taken in Nov.[ which could take 6 weeks to arrive], would get there in time to possibly make a difference in the decision that the admissions committee makes.

Okay then. I'm fairly certain I'll be taking a test in October, and I was just contemplating a test in November. But I'll be sure to tell my admissions officer about whatever I do, thanks menloparkmom!!

ShanFan---If I were you, I'd call or email admissions to be clear about test scores. I don't mean to argue with other's advice or experience but I do want things to go smoothly for you!

1:The App instructions say that all testing must be completed (taken) before the app deadline. And Libby said the following last year.

"All testing must be completed before the deadline. If you are applying EA, test scores from November will not get to us in time. You need to send us an earlier test score."

2 Arbiter is on target with the question of rushing scores. I can't remember the reasoning but sometimes rushed scores are not the best way to send them. I think it had to do with the format---esending vs. rush snail mail. I can't find the discussion thread for Chicago.

I found the source for the score report info:
http://uncommonapplication07-08.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

"Please do not rush your scores. Rushed scores come to us on paper, which must be entered by hand. Scores that are reported normally come to us electronically, which upload automatically. Even if you think you are very late, your scores will come to us faster when you do not rush them!

Just a friendly note from an admissions counselor who is getting a lot of worried emails."

At the Exploring College Options admission session in my town in May 2007, the Harvard admission officer said that "rush" handling score reports are received the same day as regular handing reports--she advised NOT paying the extra money for rush handling.

Thank you, glasses! I'll talk to my admissions counselor and make sure that my scores will be received before I sign up for the October test, and ask about November, though that seems out the window at this point.

Does chicago need sat2s?

I think this question has already been answered for you, but I'll answer it for others reading this: no.

Unalove- thanks..
