If it works...(chances)

Greetings!!

So, I'm pretty much starting to apply to colleges now, BUT, I came across UF and I am unbelievably taken away by the university. I was wondering, since this is relatively last minute, if you think that I should consider applying...but, I only have maybe a month left. I'm not sure whether or not they have a good music performance major or not, but I'd like to know whether or not I have good chances:

Thank you so much!

Your grades are great, and right up there with this year's freshman class, who averaged 4.0 gpa (w). Your extracurricular activities are remarkable, and I think UF will be impressed with what you've accomplished at such a young age.

I'm not sure why you won't reveal your SAT scores, but I think the average for the 2006 freshmen was something like 1320. (Someone else correct me if I'm wrong?) And 27-32 in the ACT. Some students are admitted with lower SATs, and I think that your EC's are so terrific, you can count on them to help you get in. My son is a freshman this year, and he didn't take any SAT's other than the basic Math/Verbal/Writing tests.

I found UF's Music Dept. webpage, and it has some good information I think might help you decide if UF is the place for you.

It's..... <a href="http://www.arts.ufl.edu/music/resources/freshmen.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.arts.ufl.edu/music/resources/freshmen.asp</a></p>

It sounds like you have to come down for a performance audition after you've submitted your application. Maybe out-of-state applicants can submit a taped performance?? Not sure. Call the department, and they'll tell you. Best of luck to you!
