Hi, I tried to get an answer to this question but never got one. I took subject SAT s because many good colleges are asking for them and ACT doesn’t have any subject specific tests. I also took regular SAT and ACT too. Now the situation is I want to use subject SAT s (since there is no such choice in ACT) ,ACT (since I have stellar score in it) and don’t want to send regular SAT(since they are average). It appears it is impossible to do that way as either you pick SAT all or ACT all or both but not subject SAT only and ACT combo. So if I send all, do colleges pick my ACT score (since it is a stellar score) over SAT and still consider subject SATs ? Hope I am clear.Thank You.
Most colleges will require either the ACT or the SAT. It’s up to you to decide which one to send. SOME schools require SAT II subject tests in addition to the ACT/SAT. Look up the requirements for admission at the school(s) you are interested in to see if they require the subject tests. Most Ivies and other highly selective schools will require the SAT II subject tests, so it doesn’t hurt to take them.
Colleges will use the scores from either the ACT or SAT, whichever is higher, and if they require SAT IIs they will consider those separately. It’s not a problem.
