<p>It's kind of a dumb question, but it doesn't make much sense to me- since if Stanford doesn't look at freshmen grades and freshmen grades are obviously a big part of the cumulative GPA, it doesn't make sense to me that they'd look at the cumulative GPA (They would only look at grades from 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, and not the cumulative GPA). Right?</p>
<p>right. they’d take your gpa from each of those 3 years and average them, or do their own gpa.</p>

they use the grades that are provided to them.
often, from a friend who used to work at Stanford admissions, they do not even bother to look at GPA because of the differences between schools.
