If stray marks on a scantron are enough to alter our scores...

<p>then why can't we just "scribble" in our answers instead of entirely bubbling them in. wouldn't it be less time consuming? i've always wanted to do this but was always scared that the scantron machine wouldn't read my answer.</p>

<p>Not all stray marks will be read, at least on my schools’ machines. I’ve literally had smudges so dark around an answer that I erased that I was sure it was going to get scored wrong, but when I got the scantron again it was graded correctly. Besides it doesn’t take that long at all to fill in a small oval.</p>

<p>yeah, but i mean the extra 2 seconds can add up quickly, no? and haven’t you ever found yourself needing like one more minute?!</p>
