<p>Add West Point, Annapolis, Colgate, Georgetown, William & Mary, Duke, Wake Forest, and Davidson. Then make a North and South division. Aside from the obvious $$$ issues, it would be a lot of fun.</p>

<p>Ivy League is a DI athletic conference…that’s all it is…yes, it is mid-major, but any one of the Ivy League schools can easily overwhelm the University of Chicago or any D3 school for that matter</p>
<p>I would think that a really good D3 school could easily work its way into the D1, especially when you look at some of the Ivy sports stats. Also I think size is important, so Duke is really too large. Carnegie Mellon is probably the best bet, academically and athletically as they are in the UAA which is ranked first of the D3 conferences.</p>
<p>This has been discussed at length, if you search you’ll even find references to the colleges that actually *were *under consideration at one time for Ivy expansion. That said, obviously Stanford and if you insist on it being East, then Duke.</p>
