IF U ARE READING THIS.... WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING INTO UCSD, UCLA, UC IRVINE ?????

I’m currently a senior, and I’m a bit concerned because my grades this school year haven’t been the greatest. I’m taking 5 weighted classes though. What if I don’t get straight A’s my senior year? Will this hurt my chances of getting admitted?

-Female, Filipino
-4.2ish GPA ??
(I’ve had straight A’s from freshman year to junior year, plus three B’s, and all of the B’s that I’ve received have been in weighted classes: B+ in chem honors semester 1, B+ chem honors semester 2, and B- in pre calc honors semester 1. I raised it to an A- by semester 2)
-SAT score: 1330
-JV girl’s basketball freshman year, varsity from sophomore to senior year. I’ve been playing basketball since I was in fourth grade though.
-about 100 hours of community service. I’ve probably earned 80 of my hours by being an assistant coach for my local basketball team for Special Olympics, the other 20 by volunteering at a home care facility, and also at my school district’s first ever Unified Sports Track and Field event!
-treasurer of Buddies Club senior year, member since freshman year
-member of BEWiSE since seventh grade. BEWiSE is a program that stands for Better Education for Women in Science and Engineering.
-I was the class speaker at graduation/ promotion for my middle school as well as elementary school, if that even matters anymore

I’m hoping to get accepted into the nursing majors at SDSU and UCI. My goal is to become a pediatric nurse one day, but the only AP science class that I’ve ever taken is AP bio. and I’m currently taking that class as a senior.

Should I take the SAT one last time in December? I feel like my score is too low.

Senior year grades are not used for UC frosh admission (at least for those currently in 12th grade), but admission offers generally come with conditions about doing well enough in your senior year courses. Most UCs specify a GPA minimum and no D or F grades, although at least one (UCSC) uses vaguer language about maintaining your previous academic performance.

You can calculate your UC GPA using this link: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Post your capped weighted UC GPA and your fully weighted UC GPA.

Your SAT score is within range for UCI/UCSD and UCLA, but a bit low to be really competitive for UCLA.

25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCLA: 1280-1500
UCSD: 1250-1470
UCI: 1190-1420

Depending upon your UC GPA, consider UCLA a Reach especially for Nursing with around a 2% acceptance rate.

For UCI, are definitely within range for an acceptance but again with such a low acceptance rate you cannot count on it.
Fall 2017 freshman applicants: 2,540
Fall 2017 freshman admissions: 88 (3.5% admitted)
Average UC GPA: 4.25 GPA
Average total SAT score (new version): 1354

SDSU looks like a solid Match for Nursing.

Regarding maintaining Senior grades. For SDSU, you need to pass all classes Senior year with a C or higher.

For UCI/UCSD, in the past you would have to maintain a 3.0 Weighted GPA Senior year with no D’s or F’s.
For UCLA, you would need to maintain an Unweighted GPA of 3.0 and no more than 2 C’s Senior year.

If accepted, your provisional admission requirements will be spelled out for you.

Best of luck.
