Compelet the sentence...

Ex. I will scream.

Scary times for UCLA. I didn't think USC would catch up this quickly.

I will never take the US News to be a credible source of information again.
They’d have to have some pretty big cojones to rank USC above UCLA and it will seriously detract from their credibility.

Meh. I wouldn’t really care. I never considered going to USC so its not as if I missed out on a better school.

EDIT: I didn’t know there was going to be a new list. Congrats to Wake Forest!

I wouldn’t care because real knowledgible (spell?) people know that the USNEWS rankings are highly flawed and skewed.

I would hate being bombarded by some of the *******s at USC whose dream it is to pummel UCLA in any way possible - check out the USC boards and leave a comment about how UCLA and USC are roughly equal - you will be lucky to survive with your balls still in your sack.

It won’t even matter. If it happens, it won’t be by more than one or two spots, tops. Both USC and UCLA are great schools. Worldwide (and honestly, anywhere outside of Southern California), UCLA is a much more renown school than USC.

Interesting that neither Michigan nor UNC are in the top 25. I remember Michigan being ranked at the same spots at UCLA and Cal.

Wow, my point was pretty easily made…

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/977297-usc-made-us-news-top-25-list.html

UNC has consistently been ranked below 25 for many years so that it did not make the list is not unexpected.

Michigan roughly falls a rank every year. It is currently rank 27, one rank below USC. That it did not make the list is also no shocker.

I wouldn’t worry about it. We’ve been losing money for quite a while now (with budget cuts and all) while they’ve had roughly steady income. and still been on top (albeit probably going downhill). Just remember how much crap UCLA had to get hit with before USC could stand a chance. We basically had to nerf ourselves for them to even come into range of getting in front of us.

bay boi, why don’t you stay gone? I’m sorry your mama had you. Really. Your life is to be an internet ■■■■■. What a sad life.

You still pretending you attending CAL, or have you given up that charade for something else?

No, no, now you probably “attend” UCLA itself!

USC and UCLA are both good schools. We’re hurting more because of the budget cuts. They’re still located in a sketchy ghetto area that scares away rich white people from having their kids attend there. Bada boom bada bing.

lol you bruins sound so sad.

^ And you’re not? You know, posting in a UCLA thread just to make fun of us. You must be bored

In asia, i know that i will get far more job offers with the UCLA name than the USC name! so I couldn’t care less if UCLA was 999 ranks below USC in US news

If it happens, and USC kids want to brag about US News ranking them higher than us, we can still brag about the thousand other rankings that have us way higher than them. Literally, every other ranking ever has UCLA higher. Putting USC above UCLA would only hurt US News’ legitimacy.

Here’s some other rankings for reference:

ARWU-
UCLA #13
USC #46

Times Online-
UCLA #30
USC #102

Forbes (seriously, ***'s up with these rankings?) -
UCLA #111
USC #281

etc…

Moral of the story is…if USC kids want to act all cool about rankings now, they’ll look stupid.

Remember in Legally Blonde when Elle Woods, graduate of the dyslexic form of UCLA, “CULA,” had that aha moment about the cabana boy being gay, when he said to her, “don’t tap those last year’s prada shoes at me, honey”?

The lightbulb just went on for me too…

I know if UCLA surpassed Cal, you would indeed scream. And I know you’re just imputing your emotional reaction onto others here by posting such.

From now on, when I read your posts, I will indeed have Perez Hilton’s voice going through my head. No offense, but I personally prefer Ms Prejean’s.

Regardless of what the USNews says, educated people always acknowledge UCLA as being the better school over USC. If USC does surpass UCLA in USN, it will be the first time it has ever happened.

Think about it like this: UCLA has won 11 NCAA basketball championships. USC has won none. Imagine USC finally won 1 NCAA basketball championship this year. Does that mean USC basketball, as a whole, is better than UCLA basketball? No.

If you ask anyone else from the country, most people recognize UCLA as a top notch university along the lines with UC Berkeley while USC is recognized mainly because of football. Yes, football. football. football. football. That is all USC is known for.

Naturally if you ask the USC CC board, you’re going to get swarmed and flamed by the 50 year old mothers that hang out there - Note*: the USC CC board is weird. Unlike UCLA and other college threads, students don’t post there. Only mothers…lots of mothers…who regurgitate everything that is written on a USC brochure. Don’t worry though, the only people that actually acknowledge that USC is “better” than UCLA are either USC football fans (and have no affiliation with the school) or alumni/current students.

Oh and if you want evidence that the USC CC board is totally nuts, all you have to do is post a thread like “Should I go to Harvard (full scholarship) or USC (sticker price)?” And you’ll see that every lunatic on that board will somehow justify that USC is the better school to go to.

^^^ lol. You’re funny. Good one.

@notaznguy
lol, so true from my experience. when i was considering USC i spent some time on that forum and the mom thing is spot on.

UCLA is the most applied to University in the nation.
UCLA is the most selective UC campus.
The internet started at UCLA.
AIDS was discovered at UCLA.
106 NCAA National Championships.
A premier location in Westwood, CA.

Do you really think many people are going to throw a fit if USC ranks higher? Rankings fluctuate, but UCLA has consistently been the higher esteemed university, hands down.

Let’s not forget about those wonderful sanctions over in South Central LA, too!
