If USC is ranked higher than UCLA in the US News, I...

To the dude who used UCLA’s historical dominance in basketball to show why UCLA will always be better than USC, your analogy sucks. Rankings over the past 30 years do not somehow make UCLA an academic dynasty that will always, by merits of the past, dominate SC. And even if the fact that UCLA is a has-been could somehow excuse its current inferiority to SC, what about USC’s commanding academic lead over UCLA from 1880-WWII? LOLZ.

Bruins have been putting down USC academically for several decades while holding up the US NEWS rankings as definitive proof. Now that USC has eclipsed UCLA in rankings, y’all pathetically, and expectedly, try to claim that rankings mean little. And you guys are insane to bring up goofy ranking systems like Jiao Tong’s. For example, are y’all really gonna claim that the University of Washington is superior to USC, Duke, and Brown? Is ASU really a better school than Emory? Maybe in the sense that, as obese public schools, they churn out enormous amounts of Grad-level research. But do they have the same caliber of undergraduate education? No. Fight on. BTW i love UW and Seattle, no offense to the Huskies.

Nice try feigning intelligence jocca1a. You just can’t admit to it when you’ve been cornered in your fantasy world can you?

Also it’s quite apparent you’re Madseason. Wow you’re stupid. -.-

Stop spamming this thread and get a life, loser.

I’ve never seen anyone hold up the US News rankings as definitive proof that UCLA is better than USC. It goes way beyond that.

the official jocca1a checklist:

[ ] intelligent
[ ] educated

[?] go bye bye now

to be updated as this thread continues

UCLA > USC

That’s my two cents. The US News rankings are always bias against public universities. Schools like Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina are all significantly better than USC yet ranked lower.

^ try looking at every other world ranking made ever. tell me if usc appears higher than UCLA?

last i remember, UCLA was ranked in the top 15ish, USC failed to make the top 100 in QS news.

last i remember, UCLA was ranked like 11, and USC was ranked for in the 40th range in the ARWU world rankings.

last i remember, newsweek ranked UCLA much higher than USC.

Ask anyone outside the United States which school is better and you will probably get the name UCLA.

The UCLA name will without a doubt get you more jobs internationally than the USC name.

US News has an obvious bias against public universities anyways, Berkeley ranked like 20 somethings? is that a joke?

jocca it’s obvious to everyone on this thread that you are a USC fanboy. Are you really that insecure when someone suggests there are better universities? Besides, USC is UNHEARD of outside of the USA. UCLA…that name will take you further. Literally almost all of UCLA’s departments are ranked higher than USC. And its not just USC. Other prestigious public school departments make USC look like a joke. Michigan Ross, UVA McIntire, UCB Haas, UNC Kenan-Flagler, UT McCombs > USC Marshall. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Sure if you want to major in film USC is great. Everything else, not so much. Thanks!

Its interesting how the USC forum blows its head at the slightest bit of educated criticism and the UCLA thread is still calm despite such blatant ■■■■■■■■.

(Then again, maybe its because its such blatant ■■■■■■■■ that the reaction is mild. The truth is the most bitter medicine after all.)

“UCLA is done as of tomorrow night. Lol! Make your predictions boys.”

I predict that UCLA will rank higher than USC, period.

Why? Read Genre’s post^^^ Do you have any response to his post, jocca1a? You were the one who asked, “UCLA > USC? According to what methodology / ranking?”

And then once evidence was provided, you state, “We can go in circles for hours on this stuff.”

Okay? It seems as though once the evidence is against you, you try to change the topic.

But really now, it IS sort of obvious that you are not both a Bruin and a Trojan…(unless UCLA was too tough for you so you transferred to USC. :P)

And ClutchEngineer did not post anything ignorant at all…he provided an honest opinion and reasons backing it up.

So a better question would be, what is your response to Genre and UCLA consistently ranking higher than USC in every other world ranking?
