If we have outside scholarships, do we need to apply for financial aid?

Do you have enough scholarships to cover all of Harvard’s tuition, room and board, and other expenses? Even if you don’t, I suppose you never NEED to apply for FA…

Are the outside scholarships for all 4 years? ARe they easily renewable?

you never have to apply for financial aid. My son received several outside scholarships. A few are renewable and 2 were 1 time awards. Just make sure that they are easily renewed, as previous poster stated. If you are unsure just make a quick call the the financial aid office and they will explain how the scholarships that you have earned can be used. Just remember that if you apply for financial aid and get it, the amount of scholarship that you bring with you doesnt necessarily reduce your family contribution amount. Some awards go towards the schools portion.

The fin aid office is very willing to discuss outside awards with you.

Best of luck
