Wise men call that a sucker's maxim.

OP doesnt make sense

I never got caught for cheating, I mean I tend to do most of my work but sometimes I just mess up and forget to study or something but I wasn't gonna settle with a failing grade for it. Anyways I don't plan on doing it in college though, most C have a 0 tolerance policy (you get caught once and you go home).

It sounds a lot like Machiavelli's concept: do whatever it takes to come out on top, but don't get caught. If you get caught, you didn't end up on top, and you obviously weren't doing a very good job at it!

Machiavelli pretty much gave ambitious people carte blanche to ruin the world for their own purposes. He should die. Again.

To be honest, I think cheating is for cowards. If you didn't study, just suck it up and take the F. I have so little tolerance for it. Haha if I ever became a teacher I'd be scary anti-cheating. I'd probably like lock the kids who I caught cheating into a closet or something.

to the OP: you should've cited the source.

The quote is really conditional by the way.

I remember I heard the quote through a friend. I'm not sure on the real source, if there even is one.

Machiavelli wasn't too bad, I mean The Prince is a pretty good handbook for a ruthless way of gaining power; at least he told the truth of what he was thinking. Logically, it somewhat pans out, especially since Machiavelli wasn't concerned about a moral absolute in his writing such a book.

Then again, there is a movement now to cleanse Machiavelli's reputation -- there are people saying he wrote The Prince as a farce.

people who think cheaters are cowards are idiots.

Why's that?

it takes balls to cheat and put your entire future at risk over one silly test/quiz/assignment

^^ well in that case I guess that makes the cheater the idiot scratches head

The only cheating I think I do is copying someone else's homework when I completely forgot we had or when I have no clue how to solve a problem.

I cheated on tests pre-high school, but that part of my life if over. :) And it wasn't even blatant cheating! It was more like.. checking answers.

I have never cheated, but I know alot of people in my bio class who do, like this guy uses a rubber band to cheat. He streaches the rubber band and writes notes and you would think that the rubber bank only has a pen mark when it is full of notes when you streach the rubber band.
but he still gets C's in that class.

Hmm.. I don't know I've never cheated on a test. Occasionally I've copied homework but that if I truly forgot or like a math problem I didn't know how to do or something.

I've had plenty of people cheat off of me though.. A lot of the time I didn't know it, occasionally I suspected it, but they've never got caught as far as I know.
