My D just checked her "MyIthaca" account" and this is the message that popped up

Your myIthaca account is unavailable at this time. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Admission at 800-429-4274 or 607-274-3124.

Just wanted to know if this meant she is waiting for a rejection:(

I am really hoping after all of these rejections that DePaul comes through for her. It's a very sad time right now.

After reading posts from past years other people posted about not being able to access their account, it doesn’t seem to mean the person was rejected. I think sometimes there are too many people logged on at once.

thanks Snowflake VT and fnpmom for the encouraging words. My D hasn’t received one acceptance letter yet. 3 Rejections and waiting to hear from 7 more schools. I cannot wait until she receives that first acceptance:)

I’ve never heard of anyone rejected from Ithaca College. According to our Naviance system, even people with a 2.2 and 14ACT were accepted. So I wouldn’t worry.

Students get rejected all the time. It may depend on the major. They have several hundred applicants for 16 MT spots and 24? (not positive on this one) Acting spots.

Yup, MT is different from all other majors. They may be rejected from MT and accepted into the school so Naviance would say they were accepted but…

This is why I found it unlikely in an earlier discussion that admissions might randomly cut some students that had the OK from the theater dept. They rarely reject anyone. I can’t imagine what criteria they would use.

Actr12. My D did the same and they confirmed her rejection over the phone. My D auditioned for a spot in the BFA acting program. She has her heart set on a conservatory and she didn’t list anything as a backup. I am starting to think that she should have listed something else. I think that is why Ithaca give students 3 options, just in case they do not get into the BFA program. Oh well, time to move on and wait for the next college. Hopefully DePaul. Next week just cannot come fast enough for us.

This is new! My friends IC Peers was just taken down and they told her it was a technological problem so maybe for future CC viewers this isnt always a bad sign :)

Ready4March, I’m sorry! I didn’t realize your D was auditioning for one of those very selective acting slots. Good luck in the rest of your March results.
