If you can’t make an AU ID are you rejected if you applied ED1.
Letters should arrive Monday or Tuesday depending on where you live. Some admitted students got calls. My daughter was able to make an account late Friday but did not get a call. She has a friend that received an email telling him that he was deferred, but he applied to SIS which is the most difficult program to get admitted to at AU. I’m sure it’s frustrating and nerve wracking for those who can’t seem to make a My AU account and didn’t get a call. Wait on the mail and try to keep a positive attitude is all I can suggest.
So unless you got an email saying you were deferred… you were rejected if you can’t make an AU ID
No…not necessarily. Wait for the letter and try to remain calm. Sending positive vibes your way. Breath.
We’re on the same boat buddy. I’m not able to access my portal and I haven’t got a call. But this might be why:
- They JUST started mailing letters on Friday evening which means they were most likely able to only activate a handful of portals. Keep in mind about 700-770 students get accepted to AU ED I. You really think they were able to activate 700+ accounts in one day? I highly doubt it.
- Some admissions reps only called a few students. Keep in mind the admissions reps don't have everyone's number like that and they most likely chose to find the phone numbers of a few students. Getting a student's number most likely requires going into their common app, only a handful of students were lucky enough to get the call. Also, you or I might get a call tomorrow! There's only so much an admissions rep can do on a Friday night lol.
- If you read threads from past years and even one from earlier this year, you would see that there were some students who got accepted but weren't able to access their portal beforehand. I would say that this might be because AU gives certain students different AU ID's than what is presented on the bottom of the emails.
- A handful of the people who were able to access their portals now are saying they got little to no aid. Maybe they need a little more time to put in student's portals who need more aid. That can take a lot more work.
- Last year, some people were able to get into the portal but were still wait-listed. And at AU a wait list pretty much means a rejection.
So the moral of the story is, DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE PORTAL!! The only way to find out you’ve been rejected or accepted at this point is when you get the letter. Depending on where you live, a lot of letters will be received tomorrow or Tuesday. Calm down. Deep breathes. Hopefully this post can calm down the nerves of the future anxiety-filled 2023 kids lol!
