If you currently live in Mews or Court/Kay/Bauer, what did you request?

If you live in any of these dorms (or lived in them), how did you get them? I would LOVE to live in any of them, but the housing request form does not let you request specific buildings. So I am just wondering how to increase my chances-- should I request single, double, social, quiet, etc.? If you currently live in Mews or CKB, what did you put down on the housing survey? Thanks

please, i also need to know the answer to this question

There’s really nothing you can do, nor does it really matter which dorm you end up in. Some have been successful in ensuring CKB/Mews by claiming allergies to whatever it is in older buildings that upset people’s allergies. Not sure if housing requires a note from the doctor if that’s what you’re going to try to do.

The housing office requires documentation from a doctor/allergist regarding allergies. My daughter has both but she did not want to go through the paperwork required and ended up really suffering in an older dorm as a result. If you have allergies, you can, in fact, be placed in the newer dorms. If you don’t have allergies, it would be hard to “make them up.”

I’m a transfer student with terrible allergies. I was wondering if you submit the paperwork, will you get a room that doesn’t have carpeting? Also on the disability paperwork, it says that allergies don’t count as a disability?

Yea, it’s pretty random, although I’ve heard people saying there are more quads in those two so that increases your chances.

If you have documented allergies, there is specific paperwork for you/your doctor to fill out. You may not be considered “disabled” but you will be placed in a new dorm (it may have carpeting though). There is a deadline so make sure to find out what it is. As far as getting into the new dorms, it is luck of the draw and there is absolutely nothing that increases your odds besides allergies. Sophomore year is even worse for housing…
