Hey what is RPI?

I think i should apply despite of my scores. Because, a lot of students have scores more than 2200, it like booring common application for decision makers. They want new, strange, special, zeal students. Most of the students who apply for Computer science don’t know about their major much. But i can be distinguished from them by my interest, aspiration and research which i did. Schools don’t want scores, they want students who are suitable for their major. If there is a student like me, i would advice to apply. That’s it

You need to retake the SAT. Right now I don’t think you stand a snow balls chance of making it into any of the schools on you initial list.

Yes, colleges are looking for new, strange, and different, but unless you have left something out of your stats, you aren’t that new strange and different. Your an Asian kid that is good at math. Big deal, there are a thousands of us, get in line.

Sorry to be brutally honest, but you have to kick it up a notch to make yourself more unique.

I don’t think there is a line students who like me. I told you " I can be distinguished from them by my interest, aspiration and research which i did."

Which other than math and engineering is what exactly?

I didn’t say other than math and engineering

So it seems to me that though you took off a few schools, your only target is Drexel, the rest are still reaches. I wouldn’t assume that Cornell doesn’t look at writing or MIT doesn’t care about SATs just because you are an international applicant- all of the ivies look at the scores no matter where you are coming from, that’s why they still ask you to take the SATs.

Also, I know you said you’ve been doing research, but being a computer science hopeful at MIT makes you the same as at least a few thousand of their applicants who believe me, also know what computer science is really like. Maybe choose another, more unique major at first and then take a few comp sci classes when you’re in college.

Other colleges to consider:
Drew, RPI ( i think someone mentioned it already), RIT, NJIT, Ramapo, Rowan, Siena, WPI

Good luck!

If you keep believing you are special, go ahead and apply to all those schools.

Your stubborness and ignorance are unmatched.

SAT I Math

It comes down to whether or not you want to waste money applying because your SAT scores wouldn’t even cut it for some state schools around here.

They want new, strange, and special students. You need to be special in a GOOD way. Right now, your scores are definitely “special”.. they’re especially bad. Saying colleges get “bored” of 2200+ and want to see different scores.. that’s completely wrong. You couldn’t be more wrong…

Lol, this is just so goddamn true, I had to laugh :)

Incorrect. They want BOTH scores AND students who are suitable for their majors. For the best universities, most of their applicants have scores way better than yours, and also math/science awards equal to or better than yours.

Fine. If you want to apply, then apply. But you won’t get in, that’s our opinion.

I don’t see why you started this thread in the first place. You seem set only applying to the schools you said no matter what anybody says. You’re not taking anyone’s advice and get upset when we tell you that you probably won’t get in.

I am pretty sure you are not a complete idiot and knew from the begining that this was the response you were going to get, so why bother in the first place. ■■■■■.

Until you tell us what makes you unique, you are just another Asian kid who is good at math, bad at english, and interested in math/computers/engineering. I guess you are international, so you are probably not familiar with US HS and college students, but you match the discription of several thousand Asian kids in the US.

OK, anyway, thank you two guys. I will keep that in my mind. If i were rude, i am sorry, I just changed my mind.

I just saw the statistics of MIT. I could be in the 1 percent.
