Applying to ( mostly for engineering except for the liberal arts colleges ) :

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Stanford
MIT
Caltech
UPENN
Columbia
Cornell
Colgate
Harvey Mudd
Johns Hopkins
Northwestern
Uni of Miami
Uni of San Diego
Uni of Michigan
Vanderbilt
Villanova
Williams College
WPI

Now I know its a 'LONG' shot in most of the uni's listed above kinda like an impossible chance but still I applied since I knew I wouldnt get this chance again... so I thought I'd just try my luck

I know my SAT 1 scores are pretty bad but keeping in mind that English is not my first language and also the fact that I have decent grades I thought it might just work out

Thanks and I a noob at this but still gimme a link to your thread and Ill try to chance back :)

You should easily get into your two safety colleges and your four match colleges with the strong grades and ECs. You can also get into some of the reach schools. It’s good to apply to a lot of schools you want to go to as the chances are more. I never got an opportunity to cause I didn’t have enough time. I only did 13. Another tip, just better your SAT score and you might end up getting into more than four or five of the reaches.

no problem bro  good luck with everything!!

why didn’t you try ed at any of the schools that offer it
I think it may have possibly increased your chances at some of the schools

I didnt know much about US colleges and Commonapp then and I didnt have my recommendations and transcripts and stuff at that time so instead of screwing it all up in a hurry I decided to just apply regular instead  … btw… can you chance me please  ?

forget the ivies, stanford, and MIT. you might have a shot at the others. your grades are good but your ECs are like random…

@englandern, applying early doesnt increase your chances unless you are a legacy or a recruited athlete…

bump!..

Thanks for chancing me!!

Match for Colgate down with the exclusion of Williams which I think is a low reach. Your international status will deter you from several ivies. However, your stats are incredible. Yes, I do mean your SAT scores too although you may not think so. I think your ECs show a variety of interests and a well rounded person which can only be a positive. Good luck!!

hey thanks  really appreciate it!

I really think if your SAT scores were higher that you would have no issue getting in anywhere; however, since they aren’t brilliant, I’d say that your ivies are definatly reaches, and maybe even some of your second tier schools (those just below ivies). I think you have a good shot though. Good luck.
