<p>they sent my son 2 id #'s (but neither work, so whatever). they sent him one in an email after he applied to "part 1" of the application (i have no clue what the heck that was but he said he did that long before the real app. was completed). then, when they requested the midyear grades, they referred to another number. it's confusing. they're confusing. it should just be the SS# imo.</p>
<p>that's why i was wondering if it is yet another number when you're accepted, but guess not.</p>
<p>i'm afraid the writing is on the wall and it ain't pretty.</p>

<p>I read that they used to use SSNs, but for the security of their students they switched to new USC IDs. Apparently, these USC IDs are now also used to track applicants. These are the only two ID #s I know of that are used by USC. Makes sense to me.</p>
<p>can anyone tell me if they got request for mid year reports? i did not but many people in my school CLEARLY below me got asked....</p>
