Haven't received anything in the mail yet? Come in...I may have an answer

REMINDER: THIS IS JUST A THEORY I CAME UP WITH AND IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE CORRECT

If you got into USC you will be able to log into OASIS. I received my acceptance package 2 weeks ago and I have the ability to log in. I spoke with someone on this forum who received their rejection letter today and asked them to log in. When they logged in they received this message:

"You have entered an invalid USC ID"

A buddy of mine, who is WELL qualified for USC (he's gotten into berkeley and ucla) has not received anything from them yet.

I asked him to log in to the OASIS site and he was able to log in JUST like I was, even though he hasn't received anything in the mail yet.

www.usc.edu/oasis is the site you want to go to.

Your Student ID is your social security number without dashes. Your password is your birthday. (ex: 061987 would be June 19, 1987)

Once again, this is just a theory that I came up with and may or may not be correct.

Is your b-day 06/19/1987 ?? That's mine too!

hahah i got accepted and i cant login it says invalid usc id

ohh well i put my USC ID in i dont have a social security number ahah

I was able to log in to the website although I haven't received anything in the mail, yet. We'll see.......

:/ dang i think im rejected then, i cant login

I applied as a transfer, so I won't hear if I have been accepted until May or June, but I have been able to log onto Oasis for the past month. So I do not think this is neccessarily true.

yeah, it probably doesn't mean anything. Sakrei, best of the luck to you.

i dont think that's accurate, because USC sent a letter to every potential undergraduate giving them their OASIS information I think it's just the website to check financial aid, etc. that every applicant gets (its kinda like Wolverine Access for those michigan people)....but to double check, how about someone who was ACTUALLY rejected try it and report back instead of us getting lead on by 3rd party reports?

futuretrojan: Read my first post...I had someone who was already rejected try to log in and it did not work for them.

ok but look at the 3rd post....someone was accepted and it did not work, and i said i want someone on the board to post and not a 3rd party report like yours

It did not work for the 3rd post in this thread because he doesn't have a social security number.

it doesnt matter if you dont have a social security number, becuase your USC ID number works as well - i tried both

I was accepted towards the beginning of march, and my attempt to log into that system failed. "You have entered an invalid USC Id". And I can assure you that I know my SS # and my birthdate pretty accurately.

My only guess is that he input his USC ID with dashes. I tried it with dashes and it didn't work and I tried it without them and then it did work.

BTW, have you been accepted yet?

edit: bluevelvet: then there surely is a problem...I'd suggest calling USC because OASIS is pretty important. I went on a USC tour the other day with a bunch of other already accepted people and the lady who was our tour leader said that we should all log in to OASIS and check up on our financial aid status, etc etc.

this doesn't work, nice try though

i have not been accepted - i dont think you can input dashes into the box, they should have a maximum amount of characters b/c i know the password can only be 6 digits

The password can only be 6 characters, but the Student ID can be unlimited. Try it for yourself.

I've never even heard of this site. Perhaps it is because I didn't apply for financial aid? Is that also why it might not be working for me?

ok this is an interesting theory but it's not accurate - MOST colleges have a system/website like this b/c it's just to check financial aid documents, etc....and im not saying this b/c im worried about my own decision - it works for me, but im not gonna get my hopes up just yet
