If you loft a bed in Russell dormitory...

How much head room might you have? Could you sit up in bed - or is it really close to the ceiling?

Thanks!

My son was on the 3rd floor two years ago and he had plenty of headroom. I do recall him saying that there was less head room on the 1st and 2nd floors. I don’t think there was enough room for him to sit up, though. However, if both students loft and put their desks under the beds, then the other part of the room can become a sitting area. Although, they did that when there were closets. Now there are wardrobes, so I’m not sure of the available space.

FWIW, you and your roomie may want to carefully measure the room and bed dimensions before deciding how you want to arrange the beds/room. As mentioned previously, room sizes can differ just enough to torpedo your plan. After some discussion my D and her roommate (3rd Floor) decided to forego lofting in favor of raising each bed six inches so bookcases and storage containers would fit underneath. YMMV.
