If you were a Cal spring admit who chose to attend, please share your experience!

I’m deciding between fall 09 at UCLA or spring 10 at Cal. I’m so torn over this decision because I love both schools, but I honestly think I would choose Cal by a slight margin if I had been admitted in the fall.

My three concerns are housing, social adaption, and graduation time.

Myberkeleyapp informs me that housing for spring transfers is not a guarantee. If so, that would mean that I may need to find an off campus apartment. However, I prefer living in a dorm, on campus, to meet people quickly and establish a social foundation.

I understand that entering in the spring means little to no club fairs or activities to join. I’m deducing that entering in the spring equates to a harder time making friends.

Does Cal offer fall graduation? If not, that would mean I’m set back a whole year, not just one semester.

If you guys don’t mind disclosing how a spring admit fits in, I would love to hear more!

Thanks

bump bump bump

same here man, even I am torn. I appealed to Berkeley for requesting to change my semester so i m keeping fingers crossed. However i really want to go to berkeley for its prestige and name.
Heres my reasoning why i shud choose either one over other…
why i shud not choose ucla
1/ rent tooo expensive
2/ i m bringing my car, so parking ll be a b*tch
3/ not as famous as cal
5/ offered me math/econ… i hate math aftr getting C in differential eqn and calculus this semester and cal is offering me only econ… awesome!
6/ not as famous as prestigious as cal
8/ twin bro going to UCLA… and uncle works at LA at times so he
why i shud not go to UCB

1/ not pretty girls
2/ more serious crowd, i heard its packed with asians.
3/ spring semester… and i wont have a house to live in for fall semester as my aunt uncle are moving to santa barbara and bro to UCLA. thats the reason for my appeal hope it goes thru well… fingers crossed
4/ I heard there are many gays in bay area… which is cool coz then theyll leave all the girls for straight guys like myself
5/ no guaranteed housing… but i guess if u plead, appeal ull get in
6/ my admission counsellor is a Ct… never replies back properly… and if he does then he will always put a !at the end of his sentence(denoting hes **d)

but hey, one can find out a apartment to live in if housing wont be available… i m sure there are a bunch of spring admits
