My son was deferred. I was concerned that if he was accepted at the end of March that he would not be eligible for any scholarships since the scholarship application deadline is March 1. I spoke to the admissions office and they said once they hear back from students who were accepted and decide not to attend any scholarship monies designated for them will be put back into the pool. However, students don’t always let them know before May 1. So, I ask you, if you were accepted to NC State and decide not to attend, please let them know ASAP so they know they can fill your spot with someone else (possibly a deferred student) and increase the pool of scholarship money. Don’t just wait until May 1 and let them figure it out when they see you didn’t notify them of your intent to enroll.
@NCSU1993 One down. S wanted NC State engineering but instead was accepted into the University Studies Program. As as result, he’ll be attending engineering school elsewhere, so today he notified NC State that he was declining their offer.
