If you were asian....

which combination works better for asians applying to wharton?

good EC (national awards and city leadership and foreign volunteer)+ ok grades (93/100, top 10 out of 400) +GREAT SAT (2400,800 800 800)

or

mediocre EC (NHS, etc) + great grades (98/100, 1 out of 400) + ok SAT(2200,700 700 700)?

since asians have the stereotype of being nerdy, whcih one would work better for wharton?

thanks!

try good EC + great grades + GREAT SAT

I'm puzzled as to why there isn't AA for Asians in Wharton. If Asians are so underrepresented in the actual business world (I've heard stats like 95% white on ibankingoasis), shouldn't Wharton be trying to help them along like all the Ivies are doing for Af-Ams and Hispanics?

do u have a link for that stat? regardless, even tho the percentage of asians in the "business world" is less than 5%, wharton undergrad is 31% asian. therefore, AA is useless since asians are already clearly overrepresented when compared to the general population.

neutralnuke, lol i would love to if i could, but the fact is that i know my limit and im trying to work with it =)

any more comments>?

Asians are already very well-represented at Wharton, regardless of the business world (check the HK, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo branches if you're looking to find where they went...not being racist, they get paid good money for their bilingual skills)

A 2200 is an "ok" SAT?

美女,我加你的msn 可是看不到你啊~~~

努力啊

try great/unique ecs

try great EC, great SAT, and great grades = waitlisted

i start to wonder if business is really my cup of tea

hi flora i added u =) lemme check what happened

LOL to jobanana89: that totally sucks, therefore i'm not expecting too much =)

I had good ECs (good, not great), great grades, and great SATs - I ended up getting waitlisted but got off the waitlist last Friday.

So by the time you are applying, things could be quite different. What year of high school are you in?

worst topic ever

im in junior year now

to neobez, many many threads here are kinda pointless, some are even worse than mine XD

What a dumb question. You have no business at penn. They obviously want amazing scores and ECs above grades, it shows you have a life.
