D'yer, Jr. reports from Duke East TIP that he's got a friend who goes to Andover and she's convinced him that he got it all backwards when he applied to PEA but decided not to apply to Andover. That sort of fits into this thread in a number of ways, doesn't it?

He wasn't saying he now wishes he applied to and got in to Andover; he was just noting that he realizes he was more clueless than he imagined when he was making application choices last fall.

(Note: The Andover thing came up out of the blue. I definitely wasn't prompting him about the question posed here as I sort of agree with Yankees that there's no use looking at this opened can of worms through your rearview mirror because you just might spill your milk over the dam and by then it will be too late to put the cats back in the toothpaste tube.)

yeah, i do.. thacher has a great riding program. riding is the one thing that i have been doing my whole life (since age 4) and is a big part of me. it's just very natural for me.. no matter how long i've been off of a horse, as soon as i get on it's like walking for me. i miss it =(. that's one reason why thacher is so appealing. they also have polo.. which is a sport that most don't get to try! i bet it's hot. i live in a town next to ojai, but we're by the beach.. ojai is blocked form the beach by a range of hills.. so the hot air just SITS there all day. ugh. it's really too small for me also. but it's a great school nonetheless. my interviewer for exeter used to ride while at exeter.. she said she would ride her bike into town and just go riding at a local stable. maybe i can too.. we'll see..

As much as I hate it, I think I would choose to stay at my current public school because I love my friends.
but if you were talking about private/ boarding schools, I would go to one that isn't surrounded with grass haha. I'm not into that type of green and pretty campus. I would go to a private school back at home (in nyc).
