@Ballerina016 what were his reasons for wanting to transfer? His post string is inaccessible. It’s funny because I specifically remember this kid from South Dakota who got into all Ivies plus MIT and Stanford and thinking two things. I might even responded to him.
I first thought why the heck would you want to apply to all 8 Ivies plus MIT and Stanford. I thought it was actually not good to have too many choices because you might always regret not going to the other school. And he seemed to have applied to most prestigious schools without thinking about the fit. I am sure the reason for his wanting to transfer from Stanford was NOT because he could not handle school work; I remember thinking he would do well academically at any school he went (he was a STEM bound kid). It must have been he found the attitudes and culture not fitting him. I would say a kid like him would fit best at MIT or Harvard.
