I'm asking because of the most competitive students at my school, I am among the top 10, and the other nine are all either Chinese or Korean, whereas I am Pakistani. I personally loathe affirmative action, but I find it absurd that if my parents happened to be born one border over in Afghanistan, I'd have a tangible advantage in terms of race. My school is quite competitive, and each year the top few have always been admitted to HYPS or similar tier schools; the vast majority of these students have been either Chinese/Korean or White (to a significantly lesser extent), with a couple of Indian heritage.

So anyways, do you think it'd be at all advantageous to be Pakistani in this case? Thanks :)
