If you're looking for dorms, think twice about Sewall

I absolutely love CU Boulder. I have met some fantastic people and I love my major and my classes. However, I have seriously regretted putting Sewall down on my preference list when I was deciding which dorms to apply to last spring. Sewall has the best dining hall on campus and it’s really close to the gym and my science classes. But that’s where the PROs list stops. The people I have met here haven’t been the most friendly or social, and a lot of them just like to party and be crazy and loud. So if that’s you, then Sewall is a great place to live. But I like to actually do well in school too, so it’s not the best place for me. I live on the second floor where there are wings. Although Sewall says its coed, it neglects to say that there are boys and girls wings. Needless to say, I haven’t met a lot of guys and if you’re like me, they’re the ones who are easier to hang out with. When I was deciding which dorms to prefer, I was debating between putting Smith or Sewall on the top. I went with Sewall but I have a lot of friends at Smith so I spend a fair amount of time there, and it has a much more “college feel.” Most of the people I have met there are fun and determined and friendly. I would highly recommend looking somewhere other than Sewall.

Hey, if you don’t mind me asking what time do you recommend to apply for your dorm of choice? I haven’t commuted yet or anything but I’m hoping to get something on main campus.
