Find me on campus. I'm 5'9", Asian-American, and usually wearing a leather jacket with a grey Rugby cashmere scarf, Ermenegildo Zegna glasses with a black outline, and leather Lacoste shoes. I know that this sounds a bit odd, but I've had quite a few lost visitors come up to me and ask me questions about Wesleyan. Don't be shy. I'm a Freshman! I understand your anxiety!

This is great. But you should also feel free to stop anyone and everyone that looks interesting-- they'll probably be glad to talk with you!

I can't wait to visit! Hopefully sometime in April or May.

Now, the only problem is asking the questions i want with my parents there...

Ditch your parents! Send them off to do something and chat away!

Cool, I may be taking another visit to the campus this weekend. I plan on taking some work with me and spending an hour or so in the library...I've decided to do that at as many of the colleges I'm interested in as I can. I've been told that you get a better feel for a college campus when you perch yourself somewhere and hang out for a while. :-)

Hmm, crap... I might be in the city on Saturday. Well, let me know when you're coming around. I might still be at Wesleyan.

Well, we were thinking more along the lines of Sunday, since we just came back from touring Vassar/Bard/Skidmore and we're going on a day trip to see Muhlenberg today. We need a few buffer days (partially so I can do the homework I neglected this break) before we take on a fifth school.

But when I know for sure if/when we're going, I'll let you know. Thanks for being so helpful! :-)

Feel free to contact me, too :) I'm a female junior math major, and my e-mail address is mjweiss @ wesleyan.edu and I check it pretty regularly, and I'm always up for answering questions or just showing you around a bit.

And I second jumble_j about feeling comfortable approaching anyone - most Wesleyan students love prefrosh and are happy to talk to you and tell you aallll their thoughts about wes. don't be shy :D

Heh, you guys may have an opportunity to use your tour-guiding skills on Sunday. My parents and I are going to spend the day on campus, just checking out what Wesleyan is like without the hustle-and-bustle of Open House. I'd opt to ditch them and get some homework done in the library (if visitors are allowed in the library...?) but they're probably going to want to stick by me the whole time. Which means that we'll probably end up touring around the parts of the campus we didn't see on the official tour (and my mom will beg an unsuspecting freshman to let us see their dorm XD).

gg, you'll see a frosh dorm room on the official tour.

If I were you, I'd track down a sophomore, junior, or senior that lives in a program house, apartment, or senior house, because THOSE living options are what makes Wesleyan housing great. All colleges have dorms. No others (that I know of) have actual 1-6 person woodframe houses for students.

Though at a lot of schools, juniors and seniors do live in their own houses - but they just live off campus. It's mostly an advantage that we have guaranteed housing all four years.. PLUS apartments and houses, though :D

Right, madjoy, that's what I meant. We don't have to deal with rent and leases and utilities and summer sublets and all the various inconveniences of only really living here six months a year. That Wesleyan's actual official housing consists of .... HOUSES is unbelievably great.
