If you've read "The Gatekeepers"...

...you might remember the anecdote about Carter Bays, the kid who got off the waiting list at Wesleyan by sending a postcard a day to the admissions office, listing the reasons he should be admitted. Well, there's a story in today's LA Times about the new TV show, "How I Met Your Mother", and guess who's the co-creator of the show. Looks like all that postcard writing practice paid off!

woah! i knew that 2 wesleyan grads created the show, but that is a crazy connection

Wow...I read the book. Isn't that something? :)

Did anyone see tonight's episode? This is the best role Neil Patrick Harris has had in years.

I remember from the book that Carter Bays started writing with David Letterman after graduation.

That's awesome! I'm a student, but my mother (who doesn't go online often) and I both read "The Gatekeepers", and had many a discussion afterwards. I highly recommend this book to anyone within this community, and cannot praise it enough.
