IGCSE Help Please

I know this has been asked a lot, but I never got a straightforward answer from threads. And, mostly are linked to MIT Admissions: Recommended High School Preparation

So, I don't want any of that, please. I am a 16 years old student from Egypt and I am hope to go to MIT. I am currently taking my IGCSE, and I have the exam in June.

I am currently taking: Math OL, English OL, Biology OL, Chemistry OL, Physics OL.

That would do MIT's recommended 1 high school year for Bio, Chemistry and Physics. And I will be doing Math A Level, so I think that will do their "Math, through calculus" requirement. Now I am not sure of 2 years of foreign language, 4 years of English and 2 years of social studies.

How can I take English in 4 years, while high school is 3 years? So, this must be in all my school years. Also, I am thinking of taking OL IT, Business and Accounting with the Math A Level and Physics A Level and.. I don't think I have "activities" or certificates or medals. I am a programmer.

Any help is appreciated :D

^ In the US system, the last 4 years of school before college are considered to be “high school”. I’d ask MIT Admissions directly what they expect from you in your system :)

I tried that actually. All I got was a reply about international students and a link to the international students tips. :/

mmm anything?

Heyy. I did IGCSEs too, even though I’m going to be graduating from high school in the USA. MIT ‘recommends’ those courses, but if high school in Egypt is only 3 years, they’ll completely understand. They won’t downgrade you just for not having those four years.

Do the best you can in the classes that are avaliable and you’ll be finee. Seriously. :)

Awesome! Thank you very much.
