Ihum

So can anyone give me advice on the IHUM courses.

American Memory and the Civil War
Art of Living
Journeys
Sex: It's Pleasure and Cultures
Humans and Machines
Technological Visions of a Utopia
Visions of Mortality
SLE
Freedom, Equality, Difference.

I think civil war and sex are new ones.

Personally, I ranked the civil war as my first choice, I love that we get to see an opera show as a supplement to the class. Sex: It's pleasures and cultures was my second choice though the summary of the class seems a bit...bleh!!!

Exactly what will be discussing in the class when you've cut out the hygiene and and pleasure bit?

This thread might help http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=191138

Oh man - I would have totally taken the Civil War course. :)

Visions of Mortality is excellent. A lot will depend on the quality of your TF though...

SLE is a great program, but it's not for everyone.

How selective is SLE? I really really want to take it, but I'm worried that I won't get in.

Not very - I'm guessing if you put that down as your first choice, you'll get in. SLE is a very niche population here on campus.

I think everyone who ranks it as 1st choice gets it.

Does anyone have any information on "The Art of Living?" The course description seems to be right up my alley, but I've yet to hear any actual experiences about it.
