Illinois ACT Thread. Silverturtle, want to help get a full list? = D

I just got my results and did better than would be expected, considering I flat-out guessed on so many science questions and had never taken a practice test. They came in the mail, by the way.

^ yay scores soon. What did you get if I may ask?

I managed a 36 somehow.

Insane. Absolutely insane.

mine arnt in yet :(

silverturtle,

I guess 2400 does correlate to a 36 after all. :P

Congratulations man!

^ Thanks. I won’t be sending it in to colleges, but I believe our high school receives some distinction from the state if a student scores 36 on the PSAE administration of the ACT.

^ Why not? It could only help you.

If you don’t want it, I’ll take it

Anyone else not get their results back yet? Some people in my school got theirs back last week. The wait is killing me!

Most of my peers have not received their scores yet.

I’ll check with the ACT on their transferability rules.

It would have no beneficial effect and cost money, and I don’t want to risk any possibility of confusion when they attempt to consider scores.

…

“should we take his 2400 or his 36?”

“AWW to hell with it, we cant decide. Lets just reject him”

“agreed”

lol is this how you see it playing out?

I think you’d be a fool not to send both…

Wow, congrats silverturtle. I can’t imagine accomplishing one of those feats let alone both.

I haven’t gotten my score back yet. Almost all of the schools around my neighborhood have gotten theirs back, but my school hasn’t yet. Some of my teachers say that the scores will be on the act.org website…is that true? Because…I mean, it wasn’t a national test…(i think). I don’t know. I just hope I know before I have to take the June 12th one so I won’t be as nervous. haha

silverturtle–
I disagree that they would serve no value. Having served on both graduate admissions and undergraduate scholarship committees, it is very nice to see triangulating data, particularly in regard to extraordinary accomplishments (like a 2400). in addition, the SAT is more viewed by some as more coachable than the ACT. I would definitely send both. A single setting 36 is too significant to be scuttled.

35.0 I’m happy = D

35 E
36 M
33 R
36 S

12 Essay

^ Congratulations.

Nice job olleger! Very solid score. I wonder how many questions you were away from 36…

^ Probably two.
