1 was departed (emigrate =/= immigrate)

and it was “who” because whom is objective…

…good lord I feel like a major imbecile right now.

I wasn’t sure about the emigrated one either, but I chose that anyway.

Oh well.

ya i put she who cus i heard that u never use whom on act unless its for whom, also for the geometric system one i got lik 128/27 cus if u looked at it it multiplied by 4 on top and 3 on bottom, so like 2/1 goes to 8/3 goes to 32/9 goes to 128/27

I’m confused. The answer was departed…?

I’m pretty sure it was departed; emigrated made no sense
He departed from Czechoslovakia, right?

for the rdie and tie question, did u say it did accomplish the thing about cooperation, i said it didn’t cus it said like nothing about cooperation but i wasn’t sure

sp3344: You’re wrong on the math. It asked for the fifth term, you answered the fourth

I said that it did show the cooperation thing because it’s a team sport.

azyrk, why do you feel like am imbecile if you supposedly got it right?

I also said it showed the cooperation. I forgot why. it talked about all the things they had to do, like who did which stage, etc.

About the who/whom, she/her question. I actually think it was whom since the sentence was structured “It was she who blah blah blah” Since the subject was “it” which would make whom the object. I could easily be wrong though. Are you sure on your answer?

I’m 99% sure it was she who. the word after who was a verb, im pretty sure. Therefore, making “she” the subject.

i’m not completely sure actually…but i put who because it was acting as the subject in the phrase

What kind of science curve you guys expecting?

Well curves in general are going to be higher because all of Illinois was mandated to take this ACT. I think science curve will be good because there were a few questions that required outside knowledge.
Which student did you say was most scientific? 3 or 4?

I personally thought student 4 was. Also, j/w, why would illinois receive better curves? Wouldn’t that make our scores a bit unfair?

Was the she/who thing No Change, then?

And emigrate means to leave a country of origin…so it makes sense to “emigrate” from Chezch (sp) to USA…subsequently you “immigrate” TO the USA.

well nationally, not everyone is mandated to take the ACT, so only “motivated” kids take it.
now EVERYONE- even “unmotivated” kids- in illinois are taking it, so curves will be slightly better. and historically, this test has been curved more.

Theundertaken: I think it is the last one, I put 120, because there are two trapezoids.

That’s what I did:
[(20+40)20 /2] x 2 = 120

MAYBE WRONG, I dunno.

hmm you might be right, but i’m pretty sure throughout the passage they referred to him as an immigrant and not an “emigrant”.

edit: i looked it up, and I think it’s “emigrate”

I put 120, but I’m pretty sure it was 40+40root 3.
