Hello everyone, I go to Staten Island Tech atm, and I'm in a jam. I have no idea what sat iis to take. Naturally Im good at math and with a little practice i can do good on the math 2 sat ii. But i suck so bad at science and my parents are gonna be ****ed if i don't take one. If i had to take a science it would be physics. Btw, do you need AP knowledge of physics to take the sat ii for it? I'm also going to take u.s history and thats it probably. Another problem is when should i take these friggin nightmares? I know theres one this June 2010, January 2011, and June 2011. Any of your suggestions would be a HUGE help! thanks in advance

The physics tests a bunch of different stuff. It has everything ranging from modern physics to mechanics. I wouldn’t say you need to take AP, but the AP Physics B syllabus is a lot closer to the SAT II Physics than AP Physics C (which will guarantee you get the mechanics/E&M stuff right…but WAY overprepare you on some things).

If you’re a natural at math, that might be the way to go. Math2 has a pretty nice curve (get a few wrong and still = 800). A TI-89 will help if you know how to use it (although it’s certainly not necessary at all…just will do a lot of the work for you).

Good luck!
