I’ve recently been looking into Olin Engineering as a school, and they accept very few students per year. My GPA is not amazing (our school doesnt do rank, but I’m probably somewhere in the top 15%), but I got a 2280 on the SAT, have been a captain of a FIRST robotics team which did well at the world level for the past two years (I was nominated for the Dean’s List this year by FIRST), and I do multiple sports. Where does this place me in their admissions?
Olin is more than just about grades and ECs. If you’ve read through the other threads you’ll notice a lot of discussion about ‘fit.’ I think your SATs will make you competitive, and your robotics team experience will be in your favor. You will need to contact the Olin admissions office to let them know of your interest and visit if it is possible so they can meet you in person.
