Sorry for the wordy title. I'm not exactly sure how to word my question!
I've been working on the FASFA but they only have it for the 2013-2014 year which is not the year I am attending college since I am a senior. Do I fill it out anyhow?
That's what I have been doing so far but then I encountered the question asking how many people in my mother's household will be college students between July 1st 2013 and June 30th, 2014. I'm not sure how to answer this. I will be the only person in my household in college, but I don't know if I put 0 since I am still in high school during that time period. Thanks in advance.

You won’t fill out the FAFSA until Jan 1, which is when the 2014-2015 FAFSA will become available.

From the FAFSA help page https://fafsa.ed.gov/fotw1314/help/pnumInCollege.htm:

Thank you that clears things up a lot!

Would anyone happen to know about the Florida Bright Futures Scholarships?
Applications opened December 1st and it’s recommended that the FASFA is completed
“to learn of potential eligibility for additional state and federal aid.” The FASFA actually used to be required to apply for Bright Futures. I would like to get both the Bright Futures and FASFA completed as soon as I can.

I am wondering if I can update my Bright Futures application later if I complete it before the FASFA window opens up.

Is there a deadline for Bright Futures applications? That’s what you need to be concerned with as well as the finaid deadlines for the schools you are applying to.

In early January you can file fafsa with actual asset amounts as of that date and good estimates for 2013 income/tax information. Then, once your parents and you if required have filed taxes you update fafsa with the actual income/tax info. The first time with estimates you select ‘will file’ on the tax question, when you update select ‘have filed’. This year your parents and you if required need to file taxes as soon as possible, this isn’t the year for them to wait on filing.
