Go for Nike/Hercules, close to everything, pool, athletic center, Marketplace and classrooms.

Sorry for late reply, I am on Spring Break so I am not checking as much as I should

**But in summer term, they only offer Lake Clarie, Nike/Hercules and Towers. My choice is between Lake Clarie and Nike/Hercules. But my friend she told me that Lake Clarie is very far away from everything and it is like a ghetto. Is it true?? **

Go for Nike/Hercules only because of location. As peacemkr59 said you got the pool, athletic centers and marketplace. The class buildings closes to Nike/Hercules are the Math and Physics Building, Chemistry, Business Administration, and Physical Sciences building. In Lake Claire you have the Communication building within kissing distance and I believe Classroom I is decently close too but don’t quote me on this. The Visual Arts building and Burnett College is also near the Lake Claire apartments. Overall though Nike/hercules have the better location.

In response to the Sterling apartments… I just signed the lease for a 4/4 and I didn’t get to choose my move-in date. Move-in date for me is August 14. Also, I could only get an apartment on the first floor. So, I have to pay that extra $25 a month. I would’ve preferred an apartment on one of the upper floors. I did not do preferred parking because they were only on the 6th floor and I might as well just try to find a spot closer to my apartment. There were only a couple of 4/4’s left and all the bedrooms with the bigger closets are taken. I didn’t get one. Just thought I would add my knowledge…

I do have a question. I’m moving from Northwest Florida to Orlando and haven’t been able to see the site or anything. imwmucf, you said they have the furniture you will get in the apartment, can you tell me what size the bed is? lol Thanks.

Knights819, thanks for the more recent info. Sorry you got stuck with one on the first floor. Does that mean there were no more 3/3s either?

I didn’t ask them what size the bed was but it was small. I’m almost positive it was a single/twin. It looked like this one: <a href=“Sterling Housing”>Sterling Housing;

I’m also from Northwest Florida. Did you go to NWFSC by any chance? :)

imwmucf, I don’t know about the 3/3’s. I didn’t ask. Thanks for the picture. And yes, I do go to NWFSC. How weird is that? :)

Gotta question: is there any store on campus to go to buy stuff like stuff you’d find in a CVS (like toothpaste, shampoo…etc) or do you need a car to drive to a Wal-Mart off campus? Also, do they have a bus that goes to stores off campus, or do you need a car?
Thnx

There is a Barnes and Nobles next to the Towers that sells that kind of stuff (in addition to school supplies) plus they sell Knight’s gear and stuff for your dorm room (pretty much everything from hangers to peal and stick plastic hooks).

knights819, the Sterling beds are FULL/Doubles (not twin, not queen).

Thanks, seiclan. I thought that was what it looked like in the picture.

Ya, there’s a drugstore next to the towers on the north side of the Arena…where Kyoto Japanese restaurant is.

I noticed a lot of people are still looking for housing. If you plan on living off campus, check out either these two sites:

[All-in-one finder for UCF Orlando college students | College Stack](http://www.collegestack.com) | Has a lot of the apartment complexes on there with pricing and availability. People also sometimes post their houses for rent on there.

[craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums](http://www.craigslist.com) | Is best if you’re looking to live in a house.

…Just be careful and always bring a friend with you.

Thanks for the replies guys lol. I just got back from my Spring Break Vacation.

At orientation for the summer transfers, do we get to register for the summer and the fall?

I’m going to be a freshmen next year and I know I’m probably living in a 4/2 apartment (most likely AV). Does this mean I’m going to have to work a little harder at meeting people? I’ve heard a lot that freshmen should live in the shared dorms to make most of their friends.

And I’m also a girl…where do the guys hang out? =D

**At orientation for the summer transfers, do we get to register for the summer and the fall? **

I believe just Summer classes. I don’t see why they would let you register for Fall classes too

Not at all, there are events going on all the time at AV, just look around and there is always people hanging out in the courtyard area.

Guys hang out… wherever the girls hang out xD Umm… Just walking outside nets you guys to look at. I see lots of guys around the Engineering/Math and Physics Building/Student Union if you need more specific areas

what are the benefits of the LEAD scholars program?

penguin10: you won’t be able to get a 4/2 apartment in AV as a freshman, those are set aside for upperclassman. You could get one in the Towers if you like.

peacemkr59: UCF spoils their National Merit Scholars, so I can. =D

^
Lol. Are you serious or just kidding?

Completely serious. I love UCF! Thanks for answering all these questions by the way. =D

They said I could pretty much have whatever housing I want…I wanted Towers but it’s more expensive AND you must pay for summer.

penguin 10: that’s awesome! good for you! do you know if you’ll have other freshman with you?
