I am failing AP Calculus AB and the 1st semester is almost over. So far, I have straight A’s besides this one F.
I have
AP Bio - A
Dance - A
Gov- A
L&G Honors - A
Spanish 3 - A
AP Calc- F
What can I do to not have this take away my admission?
Any mitigation is beyond the ken of internet strangers. See your guid counselor and ask for solutions.
We can only suggest one thing: speak to your teacher. At this point, I would be worrying more about passing this class then the potential affect it could have on college admission.
I know someone who got into BC after failing Calc 1st semester of senior year. You will still get into college. You need to talk to your counselor ASAP though to see if you can drop the level of your math class and salvage a passing grade or drop math altogether to keep the F off the transcript and still graduate. Good luck!!
For colleges that use a midyear report, they will see it and account for that in the admission decision. For other colleges, check if they want you to report if you get a D or F in any senior year course. Waiting until next summer to let them know by the final transcript makes rescission likely.
Thank you, everyone, for guiding me to helpful solutions!
What did you end up doing @Aznluvramen ? Might be helpful for other students.
