Failing Class... Question

Hey guys.

Right now its my first semester of senior year, and for the most part I have one A, two B’s and one… D. (AP GOV, STAT, LIT, AND BC). Im applying to UC’s this year and from 10th to 11th grade have gotten a good UC GPA 4.25 and Test scores 1460 on SAT and was class president last year. I am really scared I will not get accepted if I fail Calc BC. In the beginning of the year I was hesitatnt to take the class because I am not very good at math. I took on the challenge however, and didn’t drop off at the cutoff date because my teacher said if I did well on the third test she would bump up my other two. Needless to say I bombed the third test after studying my eyes out. Right now I have a 61 in the class, and its starting to bring me and my other grades down. I’n talking to my counselor on monday on if I can switch down to AB with drop failing. I just dont know what to do. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I do not think there is much you can do. I am currently taking AP Calculus AB, and I understand how you feel. I am struggling a little bit, but I noticed my grades started to go up after I formed a study group with some of my friends. I am unsure if this method would work for you, but you might want to give it a try. I also use my teacher as a good resource. What I mean is that I go into her class in the mornings or after school, and we go through practice problems. This has surprisingly helped a lot. Now in the beginning, when I said there was not much you could do, I meant with your counselor. You could try to switch out, but it may be impossible with conflicting scheduling issues.
