I'm going to be a senior taking precalc. Will Ivy Leagues still accept me without Calc?

So my GPA is around 3.87 unweighted, 3.95 or so weighted.

I have a lot of extracurriculars: HOSA, leadership positions, Key Club, National Honor Society, Student Government, various charities/organizations, etc. I do have a lot of basic extracurriculars that won’t stand out as much, but there are a few that are unique.

I’m not quite sure what I want to major in yet, but I knew for sure that I definitely wouldn’t be pursuing a mathematics major… because it’s something I lack in.

I took Algebra Statistics and Trigonometry (AST) my junior year and it was a breeze for me. But little did I know that (according to people I’ve talked to) that Ivy Leagues and top tier colleges look down upon taking that class.

I’m still awaiting SAT scores to come out from the June 4th SAT test.

What should I do?

If you tell Ivy league schools what you are passionate about, youll do well. Since its summer, and not alot of schools look at senior year as critical as freshman-junior year. Your goal should be to find a subject you are interested. My suggestion is to read a vast amount of books until you find a subject that grabs your attention and you dive into it. For example, if you are interested in innovations you could be reading about 3d printing, robotic surgery, Cisco’s Unified Computer Systems, etc. Dont sweat it, find what you love and good things come your way.

If Ivy League schools did not accept students without calc, then there would be no need for these schools to offer Intro Calc classes, but they all do. For my own Ivy League uni, there is a fairly sizable minority who did not take calc in HS. Now whether you’ll actually get in is a different question. But, not having calc will not mean an automatic rejection. Good luck.
