I'm sure there are probably 1000 threads similar to this one, but I did myself in a bit of a difficult situation in terms of looking for colleges. I would be interested in a school that is:

-Liberal arts oriented

-Preferably small or mid sized

-Located in the Northeast

-Perhaps similar to Wesleyan, Bates, etc, but less rigorous/ slightly easier to get into. Still a selective school, but maybe less hardcore in terms of admissions than schools like Wesleyan.

maybe Goucher, Juniata, McDaniel? [Colleges That Change Lives | Changing Lives. One Student at a Time.](http://www.ctcl.org/) has a lot of small liberal arts schools and you can sort them by location.

Hampshire, Connecticut College, Skidmore College, Muhlenberg College, and Wheaton College. It depends on the vibe you are looking for. You can easily plug this into the college search on CC and get a ton of results. If you like Wesleyan you should certainly look at Hampshire, Connecticut College, and Skidmore College. They are supposed to have similar student bodies and vibes. Good luck!

He didn’t say LAC, though, she said “liberal arts oriented.” I would say that Boston College is “liberal arts oriented.”

Stonehill College (MA)
Colgate University (NY)
Allegheny College ¶
Ursinus College ¶
Bard College (NY)
Manhattan College (NY)
Emerson College (MA)
SUNY-Old Westbury
Providence College (RI)
Centenary College (NJ)
Hobart & William Smith Colleges (NY)
Qunnipiac University (CT)
Mount Saint Mary College (NY)

Hmmmmm, small LAC located in the NE. If only there was an invention where one could type a few words into a database and suggestions would magically come out on some kind of screen?

C’mon at least do the research and narrow it down to a few lkely candidates and then ask for further imput.

GPA, SAT or ACT scores? EFC= Expected Family Contribution?

Run your EFC on the College Board website with your parents 2012 tax returns.
Choose both IM for Institutional Methodology and FM for Federal Methodology.
Keep hitting save on every page so you can refer to it. Print out the one page summary.

You need to consider schools that are affordable.
