I'm new... so another "What Are My Chances?"

I'm new here -- always read the threads but never posted anything -- so sorry to bore you w/ another "What Are My Chances?" thread. But everyone seems so helpful and kind, and constantly giving out constructive critcism... so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Thank you for your time and effort! If you answers... just tell me what I can do to make it up to you and I will -- because I'll definately owe you a big one. Here we go...

I'm applying as a female undergraduate student from New Hampshire
I plan on majoring in Journalism or Media Communications

I'm applying to:
Simmons College
Emmanuel C
Suffolk U
University of New Hampshire
University of Vermont
Syracuse U
Boston U
Emerson C
NYU
and possibly Brown (just because its my absolute dream... though I know my chances are below .5% haha)

SAT: 1800
Reading: 620 Math:580 Writing: 600
No ACT
Planning on taking the Math I, Lit., and U.S. History Subject Tests Dec. 4

GPA: 3.4 (on the 4.0 scale)

Volunteer hrs: approx. 160

I'm an honors student and have won student of the month twice. I also won 2nd place in a national FBLA competition for Digital Video Production this past year.

Extra-Curriculars:
Drama/Theater
National Honors Society
FBLA
People to People
Piano Lessons
Student Council
Class Representative
Drama Council
Youth and Gov.
All-State Chorus Festivals
FCCLA

I've also held a job down for a year working as a Tour Guide at a nearby amusement park

I pretty damn good at writing, so I'm confident in all my essays. I also have 1 killer recommendation from a teacher, and pretty good ones from 1 other teacher and guidence counseler

Thanks again in advance!

I forgot American U!!!

I don’t know much about some of those schools, but don’t worry about Suffolk U, University of New Hampshire, or University of Vermont. Syracuse seems like a very good match, with BU and Emerson as slight reaches.

Brown is definitely an enooormous reach but good luck :D!

^agree with what rebeccar said

You should get into a few of these. Are they financial safeties though? None of these schools accept for Brown, which you know is not likely, gives good aid. So your list is fine if you can afford these schools.

Thanks guys! I’m expecting to get good financial aid for UNH (since I’m in-state and for other reasons, plus I know many students there from all financial backgrounds and none have complained about financial aid). Also Simmons, Emmanuel, and Suffolk are all cheaper than the rest, plus I have alum connections there so hoping?!

Also, like I said, I probably won’t even apply to Brown. The only reason why I would is that I’ve had the classic supplement essay question “why do you want to attend Brown?” writen out in my head for as long as I can remember. I simply would love to go there is all.
