I'm really worried that my brother can't get in state?

My parent’s business is not doing well. Once my parents can sell their business and house, they plan on moving to Orlando to work for relatives and what not. I’ll be staying in GA and finish college at UGA. Thing is my brother just graduated high school and is going to our local college in GA. I’m hoping he can transfer to UCF for their Game design program for UCF since that’s his dream job. But I hear it’s really difficult to get in state residency and that once you transfer as out of state, you will keep paying out of state. He’s dependent on my parents tax claims, so he really needs the financial aid. Can he not wait a year until my parents establish residency, then he can apply for in-state? Isn’t that how it usually works? My parents are also moving for my brother’s education. If it’s too expensive than they are stuck in limbo here.

Each school plainly explains their residency policies on their bursar’s webpages. You should be looking there instead of asking internet strangers for their guesses.

Good luck.

I would talk to a real person at the schools. You will know the answer right away.
