I've done some work in the lab involving PCR and finding viruses.</p>
<p>I'm not sure what the Chinese schools are looking for, but for U.S. top Ivies, I would advise creating meaning from your extracurriculars in your essay. Your volunteer work at your Chinese Temple is a tremendous time committment. At this point, you need to explain what it has meant to you. Also, you should explain your piano and your go a bit more. </p>
<p>You have the raw materials to get into any school in the country - now you have to advertise yourself. Show achievements and depth of personality. Additionally, try to show breadth of involvement.</p>
<p>Remember, it's the substance that opens the door, it's the style that lets you walk on through like a star!</p>
