Sorry, it has turned out to be such a sour experience. I had a feeling this would not end well.

I’m sorry it was like that The admissions office is no way representative of the college in that sense… Vassar’s students are the nicest set of people I have met in my life.

If you would still consider applying to Vassar, I can tell you from experience that Vassar does not care much about SAT I scores for domestic students, but that they are much more important if you’re an international applicant so your chances of getting in may have improved dramatically.

:/ still apply conflicted! i’m actually surprised, i’ve had wonderful experiences with admissions (i went bowling with my adcom and we joked around. it was fun).

even so, i guarantee you the student body and profs here are amazing. i feel my vassar friends and i are the only ones who are truly happy with out college experiences so far (at top colleges anyway). not to diss other schools, i haven’t attended them, but vassar really is absolutely amazing.

The OP needs a safety and that means both from a financial point of view as well as fit. When he finally nails that down, perhaps he will reconsider Vassar and apply RD.

for international students, financial safeties don’t really exist :/
