So far in school I have been a completely average student. The thing is I don't want to just be average because if you're average and apply to Rutgers they look at you like they do everyone else. I don't have much community service, but if I got more community service and maybe upped my grades or took an honors class next year do you think it would increase my chance? (and I was also wondering if senior year counts towards colleges too.) Thanks!!!!

What exactly is average to you if you considered GPA or SAT/ACT?

Senior year courseload is considered in the admissions process. Don’t slack off senior year otherwise you may find yourself in the rescinded pile in the blink of an eye! More community service hours and grades are always good factors in getting a better chance at admittance. Good luck!

My average gpa is probably about a 3.6 I’m an A B student

3.6 is not a terrible GPA to have, Rutgers is a good school and if you are in-state that will help tremendously. Don’t join 20 clubs though and not participate in them, it’s better to do one or two major activities and be very involved in them. Also what’s your SAT/ACT scores?

I’m taking them in may. I’m ganna try and do really good though. What do you think is the lowest I should get?

Also is early release 2nd semester next year that bad of an idea with college if I try to take an honors class next year?

“An” honors class next year? Have you never taken a class of more than low difficulty?
That’ll hurt you for course rigor

That’s why I’m asking if I can get in…

Or why to do at least

What*

Rutgers SAS/SEBS/MG: Aim for 27+/1850+
Rutgers business/engineering/nursing: Aim for 29+/2000+
Rutgers 0-6 PharmD: Reach

What about homeland security or a degree related to law and public safety? Because that’s most likely the degree I would get.

Criminal justice is under SAS jurisdiction…

Okay I just would like to know my chances
