My problem is this: lately I've been thinking more and more about transferring to a school in california. I have a few in mind, and I'm relatively sure I could get accepted. The problem is there is no way I can afford the 20k+ out of state tuition. I was considering moving there and working for a year or two to gain residency, then going back to school. I know this may not be a great idea, but the two main factors are 1)I don't think graduating from UNLV is going to look too great on my med school app, even if it is with a 3.8, and 2)I absolutely love california and want to get out of this sweltering hell hole in the desert. But if taking time off would hurt me in any way, I'll just tough it out here. Thanks in advance for any insights you guys can offer.
